I just don’t understand why people pay for software when there is so much excellent freeware available. Some people seem to think that free means not very good but in fact some freeware is as good as and in some cases better than the cost commercial alternative. Take OpenOffice as an example it may not have all the knobs and whistle of Microsoft Office but then most users only use a fraction of the functionality available in an office application. For home users and small offices OpenOffice is a real star (forgive the pun.) Mozilla Firefox is an example of another outstanding piece of free software. As well as these well known examples there are countless other excellent freeware applications.
