How secure is your password

Just how secure are your passwords. I came across this handy password security calculator http://lastbit.com/pswcalc.asp which will let you easily see how different pasword statergies affect the time it would take someone to brute force crack your password. What you will notice is that it's best to have a password of at least 10 characters and mixed case.

A few more tips don't use word as dictionary attackes will crack these quite quickly. If a website will let you use a pass phrase rather than a word something like "Mary has a little Lamb" is a good idea especialy if you add in a few non standard characters "Mary1 has a little #Lamb". Also remember as computers get faster their ability to crack passwords increases so review you password stratergy from time to time. And don't use the same password for more than one site.

Here another tool where you can check the strength of your passwords http://www.securitystats.com/tools/password.php
